Profile - Lynn Berry
Lynn Berry is a Fibre Artist whose love affair with freeform
knitting springs from her lifelong passion with colour,
texture and fibre. She came to fibre arts gradually having
been a knitter from a very young age - starting out with
knitting clothing for her Barbie doll, progressing to
scarves and jumpers for family and friends.
In more recent years, Lynn's yearning has been for a
more creative, less structured, playful expression. A workshop
with Prudence Mapstone - world renown master in freeform
knitting, as well as a serendipitous encounter with an
embellishing machine gave Lynn her license to play.
Since then, she has had a lot of fun creating interesting
pieces for exhibition and sale.
In 2009 Lynn and some friends formed a knitting group which meets regularly to exchange ideas,
and encourage and inspire each other in their knitting endeavours.
The group also contributes to the making of communal projects such
as knitted blankets for charity.
